With its Managing Director Deepak Ushadevi leading the front, French floating PV specialist Ciel & Terre’s India arm has been able to achieve the milestone of completing the construction of a 14.7 MW floating solar plant in Tamil Nadu. The project was developed for Southern Petrochemical Industries Corporation on a water surface located in its Thoothukudi plant. It relies on 37,632 PV panels of 390 W and occupies an area of 15.6 hectare.

Notably, this project is India’s largest installed floating solar plant as of date! Ciel & Terre India commissioned its first pilot 452 kW project at Cochin International Airport in 2019. This was followed by a 5.4 MW at Sagardighi thermal power plant in West Bengal last year. Currently, the company is executing a mega floating project of 75 MW in South India, which is expected to commissioned by October this year. We wish Ushadevi and his team good luck for many such endeavours in the future.
