Lt Gen Rajeev Chaudhary, Director General, has spelt success for Border Roads Organisation with the recent opening of the Siyom Bridge in Arunachal Pradesh. Amidst ongoing tensions between India and China, the 100 m long, class 70 steel arch superstructure will act as a gateway for sensitive areas of LAC in the state. The bridge will help with the movements of troops as well as the transportation of heavy equipment and mechanised vehicles to forward areas along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) during conflicts. Additionally, the Rs 7.25 billion project has been the top priority of the Government to enhance the socio-economic development of the far-flung regions of the state.
