On an immediate basis, the Telangana Government has issued orders for purchasing 2,000 MW of power on a long term basis for a period of seven years from generators across the country. This move was carried out due to modifications in the earlier orders due to which the government proposed to procure power on a medium term basis of five years. The power will be obtained from generators in the southern region.
