NHAI vows to make FY 2021 the best year for highway construction

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has awarded Rs.480 bn worth of road contracts in the first six months of this year and plans to award contracts worth Rs.2 tn by the end of the year, creating opportunities for construction companies and construction equipment companies. The government has encouraged building of roads with full vigour and make it the best year for highway construction. The authority will also start rating the best roads to enhance quality and speed of execution. NHAI has transferred Rs.100 bn towards its dues to contractors; and a Dispute Resolution Board has been put in place to encourage resolution while the projects are in progress.
