DB Realty claimed that it had leasehold rights on the 4 acre plot in Mahalaxmi where it is developing the Rs 3,000 crore premium residential project Orchid Heights. The company stated that it did not violate any law in acquiring the plot. DB Realty sells apartments at a base price of around Rs 25,000 per sq ft in the project, which has two towers of 69 floors each. Each flat costs around Rs 8.5 crore. The project is scheduled to be completed by January 2014.
