Uttar Pradesh intends to build 100 townships in five years

The government of Uttar Pradesh anticipates tremendous expansion in metropolitan areas, and during the next five years, plans to establish 100 new townships. Out of the 29 development authorities in the state, the larger ones covering Lucknow, Kanpur, Prayagraj, Meerut, Agra, Varanasi, Ghaziabad, Gorakhpur, Meerut, Mathura, Moradabad, and Bareilly will have to set up at least four townships, while the remaining ones have been given the task of setting up two.
