BIS new reference architecture for smart cities adopts the Open Group ArchiMate®

India’s ICT Reference Architecture for Smart Cities (ICTRA) announced the adoption of Open Group’s ArchiMate. The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) in collaboration with Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs has developed ICTRA by virtue of which ArchiMate will be available for smart city applications across India. ArchiMate specification is an open and independent language for Enterprise Architecture which aims to help smart cities solve real issues digital technology, shared framework and increased interoperability among vendors. With this ICTRA aims to create a platform where all concerned parties like stakeholders, vendors etc., can freely collaborate and information flows across their functions.
