Cabinet nod to Major Ports Authority Bill

To provide autonomy to India’s top 12 major ports and improve their efficiency and competitiveness, the Union Cabinet has approved the Major Port Authority Bill, 2020 to replace the existing Major Port Trust Act. It will provide more operational autonomy to ports and fast decisions will be possible at the port level.
