India and Iran to seal Chabahar port deal

India and Iran are trying to conclude the contract for the expansion of Chabahar Port by January 2016. The contract involves construction of two berths at the Chabahar port with an investment of $85 mn. The remaining $15 mn of the total $100 mn commitment for the project in Southeastern Iran will be invested in other areas of Chabahar port complex. Delhi also plans to connect Chabahar with Iranian rail network.
