Indian Railways announces its second longest rail tunnel

The proposed 10.7-km railway line, which includes a 9.02-km-long tunnel connecting the upcoming Vizhinjam seaport with the railway network, is set to become the second longest railway tunnel in India. A DPR has been submitted by the Konkan Railway Corporation and the total cost of rail connectivity is estimated at Rs 10.69 bn.
