Railway stations to undergo revamp under Adarsh scheme

As many as 1,253 railway stations across the nation have been identified for a revamp, according to Union Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw. So far, 1,215 stations have been developed and the remaining are set for completion by 2022-23.

The beautification and upgradation of stations is being carried out under the 'Adarsh' scheme of the Central government, designed to provide enhanced passenger amenities at stations. In addition, the minister also highlighted a new scheme - Major Upgradation of Railway Stations - under which 52 stations have been identified for upgrade.
