Commercial operations kicked off at IRB Sindhudurg Airport
IRB Sindhudurg Airport Private Limited, a special purpose vehicle of IRB Infrastructure Developers Limited, committed to improve and operate the Greenfield Airport Project at Chipi in the Sindhudurg District of Maharashtra commenced the commercial works from the new airport. Chairman & Managing Director of the firm, Virendra D Mhaiskar told the media that they look forward to observing more airlines and travellers coming and using this world-class facility that will promote the economic development of the district and Konkan region above all, which would bring more pride to them and increase their confidence in promoting more such infrastructure for the state and the country. The Sindhudurg Airport had received an aerodrome license to work from the competent authority, DGCA, as an outcome of this, the facility is now made available for airline operatives and general citizens. In view of creating more opportunities for regional economic growth, especially in drawing tourists from all over the World, the Maharashtra Government had determined to improve Konkan in general and Sindhudurg particularly as the most sought after tourist destination.
