Indore Smart City to Raise Rs one Billion for Road Projects
Indore Smart City Development Limited (ISCDL) will raise a Rs one Bn loan to finance road and infrastructure development across the city. Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) commissioner Shivam Verma confirmed the funds will support ongoing and planned road works, with land parcels like MOG Line to be monetised for repayment.
ISCDL also proposed reconstructing old civic markets, potentially adding revenue via consultancy fees for the Smart City initiative.
Meanwhile, IMC has launched construction of 23 major roads under the city’s Master Plan. Commissioner Verma instructed that utility work—such as laying sewer, water, and stormwater lines—must be completed before construction starts. Strict quality control and adherence to timelines were also emphasised.
Currently, the road from Bicholi Hapsi via Bhuri Tekri to Nayta Mundla is under development. Five other major road projects are underway, including the 1.2-km Link Road from TCS to MR 5 and the 3.65-km road from Advance Academy to Ring Road.
The city’s infrastructure upgrade is part of a wider push to modernise public amenities under the Smart City mission.
