Modi told the media that India also took action towards electric mobility, and the work on 100% railways electrification is also progressing quickly.

He said that the Indian Railways has an objective to become a net-zero carbon emitter by 2030. The country is also paying attention to the Mission Circular Economy along with all these efforts.

The Prime Minister said in his Independence Day speech at the Red Fort that their Vehicle Scrap Policy is an excellent example of this and that India is the only country in the group of G-20 countries that is moving fast towards achieving its climate goals.

PM Modi highlighted that India is a vocal voice in the environment security area. He said that over Rs 12 lakh crore is spent by India annually for energy imports.

He mentioned that the energy independence of India is the need of the hour, necessary to make a self-reliant India for the progress of the country.

He also said that India has to make a resolution that it will make the country energy independent before the completion of 100 years of independence, and for this, their road map is evident and be it a gas-based economy, a network of CNG, PNG across the country, a target of 20% ethanol blending, India is moving ahead with a set goal.

He announced the National Hydrogen Mission to achieve this goal of Green Hydrogen. He said India would have to augment its manufacturing and exports, and India launched its first indigenous aircraft carrier INS Vikrant for trial in the sea just a few days ago.
