JK Lakshmi, Chettinad Cement in Race to Acquire Deccan Cements

JK Lakshmi Cement and Chettinad Cement are reportedly bidding for Deccan Cements, which seeks an enterprise value of Rs 31.1 billion (approx. $90 per tonne). The company, with facilities near Vijayawada and headquarters in Hyderabad, is expected to reach 4 MTPA capacity by year-end. The sale is being advised by EY. As infrastructure investment surges in Andhra Pradesh, interest in regional cement assets has grown. This move aligns with broader industry consolidation, especially in South India, where capacity utilisation remains comparatively lower.
