UltraTech Cement Opens 2nd Grinding Mill in MP, Capacity Hits 192 MTPA

UltraTech Cement has commissioned its second cement grinding mill at the Maihar unit in Madhya Pradesh on June 26, adding 1.8 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) to its production capacity. This development is part of the company's ongoing expansion strategy. The first grinding mill at the Maihar facility became operational in March 2025.

With the addition of the new mill, UltraTech’s consolidated domestic grey cement capacity has increased to 186.86 mtpa. Including its overseas operations, the company’s total global cement capacity now stands at 192.26 mtpa.

In its financial results for the January to March quarter (Q4), UltraTech Cement reported a net profit of Rs 24.82 billion, reflecting a 10 per cent increase compared to Rs 22.58 billion in the same period last year. However, the profit was marginally below analysts' expectations of Rs 25 billion.

Revenue for the quarter stood at Rs 230.63 billion, marking a 13 per cent rise from Rs 204.19 billion in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. This figure fell slightly short of the Rs 235.05 billion projected by a CNBC-TV18 analysts’ poll.
