Attero has operationalised its new R&D Centre of Excellence in Greater Noida to strengthen technology development, process innovation and automation capabilities across its critical mineral recovery, recycling, refining and mid-stream processing operations.

The facility will focus on advanced recovery of materials from end-of-life batteries, electronic components and other complex secondary resources, including rare earth elements and other high-value materials. Its technology programmes will cover robotics-based battery cutting, advanced discharging systems, energy-efficient roasting equipment, filtration, drying, automated material handling and safer ventilation systems.

The Centre has received recognition from the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR), Ministry of Science and Technology, as an in-house industrial R&D centre, valid through March 2029. The recognition supports Attero’s R&D framework and enables access to applicable Government facilitation for research-related procurement.

The centre builds on Attero’s technology base, supported by more than 50 granted patents and over 200 patent filings globally. It complements the company’s Roorkee facility in Uttarakhand, which has achieved recovery efficiencies of over 98% and purity levels above 99.9% across battery materials.
