Mines Ministry Opens Pavilion Showcasing India’s Mineral Strength
The Pavilion highlights the combined strength of India’s mineral and mining ecosystem, with participation from all Central Public Sector Enterprises under the Ministry — NALCO, HCL, GSI, MECL, JNARDDC and NIRM — along with partners such as Hindalco, Hindustan Zinc (HZL) and research institutions including NFTDC.
Shri Reddy toured the Pavilion, engaging with Self-Help Groups, exploring the Virtual Reality zone and reviewing displays presented by the Ministry and its affiliated organisations. He observed the ways in which institutions are adopting new technologies, sustainable mining solutions and innovation-led practices to enhance the nation’s mineral capabilities.
Following the walkthrough, the Minister commended the Ministry’s efforts, noting that the Pavilion effectively showcases the Government’s commitment to responsible, technology-enabled and sustainable growth of the mining sector, ensuring efficient utilisation of India’s mineral resources.
Key features of the Pavilion include its emphasis on the National Critical Mineral Mission, sustainable mining practices, advanced exploration technologies and innovations shaping the future of India’s minerals and metals landscape. Visitors can experience VR-based mining simulations, digital mining systems and interactive knowledge zones.
To inspire students and young visitors, the Pavilion also offers quizzes, learning modules and engaging displays on critical minerals, geological exploration and sustainability-driven innovation.
The Ministry has invited all fair visitors to explore the Pavilion and participate in this informative showcase at IITF 2025.
