Assam proposes Rs.773.53 billion power investment

Assam has proposed Rs.773.53 billion for power generation, storage and transmission under its 2026- 27 Budget. The plan includes Rs.271 billion for 4,900 megawatts of pumped storage and `400 billion for a 3,200-megawatt ultrasupercritical thermal plant. Renewable proposals cover 137 megawatts of small hydropower, 75 megawatts of solar capacity and a 25-megawatt battery storage system. Another `46 billion will fund transmission corridors and substations, supporting nearly 15,000 circuit kilometres of planned network additions statewide over five years.
