Atlanta Electricals Secures Rs 2,851.5 mn PSTCL Order For Power Transformers

Atlanta Electricals Limited has secured an order worth approximately Rs 2,851.5 million (mn) from Punjab State Transmission Corporation Limited for the supply of power transformers. The Letter of Award covers the supply of 23 units of 160 MVA, 220/66 kV power transformers fitted with Nitrogen Injection Fire Prevention and Extinguishing System (NIFPS) and includes optional spares. The company indicated the aggregate value includes applicable taxes. This contract is intended to support transmission infrastructure requirements in Punjab.

The company said the order will strengthen its presence in the state's power transmission segment and support capacity utilisation across manufacturing facilities. Niral Patel noted that the award reflected continued trust in the company's execution capabilities and its track record in delivering high capacity transformers. Atlanta Electricals has been associated with PSTCL since 2018 and has supplied around 200 transformers in the state with an aggregate installed capacity of nearly 5,000 MVA. The latest order was described as reinforcing the company's ability to deliver technologically advanced transformers to state utilities.

Atlanta Electricals manufactures transformers in a range covering five MVA/11 kV to 500 MVA/765 kV as well as auto transformers, inverter duty transformers, furnace transformers, generator transformers and specialised duty units. The company reported that as of December 31, 2025, it had supplied 4,710 transformers with a cumulative installed capacity of 107,229 MVA across India. The new supply to PSTCL is expected to be configured for grid integration at 220/66 kV voltage levels and to include systems designed for fire prevention and extinguishing. The order will involve engineering, fabrication and delivery activity spanning the firm's manufacturing footprint.

Company executives indicated that the contract aligns with ongoing investment in transmission infrastructure by state utilities and will support local grid resilience. The order size and technical specifications were cited as consistent with recent trends in high capacity transformer procurement by utilities seeking reliability enhancements. Atlanta Electricals said it will proceed with project implementation in accordance with the award terms and timelines specified by PSTCL. Market observers will watch execution and delivery as indicators of manufacturing throughput.
