BCL Industries Earns 50,077 I-RECs For Renewable Power

BCL Industries Ltd has been issued 50,077 International Renewable Energy Certificates (I-RECs) for renewable power generated between January and September 2025 at its 10 MW captive power plant in Bathinda, Punjab.

The renewable power is produced using a 60 TPH biomass-fired boiler, which utilises paddy straw as the primary fuel, reinforcing the company’s commitment to sustainable energy and agricultural residue utilisation.

These certificates have been issued under the globally recognised I-REC Standard, administered by Evident Ev and facilitated in India through the International Carbon Exchange (ICX), a subsidiary of the Indian Energy Exchange (IEX).

BCL Industries stated that it will continue to receive I-REC certificates on a pro-rata basis, aligned with its future renewable power generation cycles.

The recognition underscores the company’s ongoing contribution to India’s clean energy transition and its active role in reducing carbon emissions through biomass-based power generation.
