Captain Polyplast has secured a Rs 236 mn order from the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) for the supply and installation of 1,000 off-grid DC solar photovoltaic water pumping systems under the PM Kusum-B scheme. The contract covers systems of three, five and seven point five horsepower (HP) capacity at identified farmers' sites across districts of Maharashtra. The order forms part of the Magel Tyala Saur Krushi Pump Yojana.

The scope of work comprises design, manufacture, supply, transport, installation, testing and commissioning, together with a comprehensive five-year warranty and repair and maintenance services. A remote monitoring system will be provided for a period of five years for all installed systems. The project is scheduled for completion within 60 days from the issuance of the notice to proceed, work order or job start report approval.

The company has clarified that the contract is not a related-party transaction and that neither its promoters nor members of the promoter group have any interest in the award of the order. Captain Polyplast manufactures and sells micro-irrigation systems and allied products and undertakes installation and agronomical services for farmers. Its manufacturing facilities are located at Shapar (Veraval) in Rajkot.

For the quarter ended March 2026 the company reported a 90.63 per cent year-on-year increase in consolidated net profit to Rs 97.6 mn, compared with Rs 51.2 mn in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. Revenue from operations rose 80.33 per cent to Rs 1.41 bn from the prior period. The firm indicated that the supply contract will add to its order book and support growth in its irrigation solutions business. The work is expected to improve farm access to reliable solar pumping and monitoring capacity.

The contract value and the five-year monitoring commitment underline the company's focus on integrated irrigation offerings for farmers under government schemes. The order reinforces its presence in Maharashtra and is intended to accelerate deployment of decentralised solar pumping solutions.
