Diamond Power Starts Copper Cable Line With 1,500 t Monthly Capacity

Diamond Power Infrastructure Limited has commissioned a dedicated copper wire drawing and copper cable manufacturing line at its integrated manufacturing complex in Vadadala, Savli, Vadodara, Gujarat, marking the company's entry into the copper cable segment. Commercial production from the new line commenced on 20 August 2026. The project brings copper conductor manufacturing within the firm's existing facility and aligns with its power cable operations.

The line has an installed capacity of 1,500 t per month of copper cables and is intended for applications requiring high power intensity and high current carrying capability, including data centres, power plants and heavy industrial installations. The manufacturing line incorporates in house drawing of copper wire from copper wire rod, enabling conductor manufacturing to be integrated within the company facility. This vertical integration is designed to give the firm control over conductor quality, consistency and cost across its copper product range.

Diamond Power has historically manufactured aluminium based cables and conductors, and the new copper line expands the product portfolio into a higher realisation product segment, enabling the company to offer a complete cable package covering both aluminium and copper conductors. The company said the expansion is intended to serve both domestic and export markets in line with its existing customer base and that the change does not alter the general character or nature of its business. The company expects the expansion to support business growth and to have a positive impact on its topline.

Management noted that customers have sought a single source for both aluminium and copper conductors and that the new line will allow the company to meet that requirement more fully. The firm described the move as a deliberate step up the value chain, targeting higher specification and higher realisation work where quality and delivery reliability are decisive, particularly in data centres and power plants. The commissioning therefore positions the company to bid for more demanding contracts across power and industrial markets.
