Eleven Eyes Haryana Power Distribution Market With Rs 47 bn Investment
The proposed distribution network will be primarily powered by renewable energy and is intended to provide an uninterrupted electricity supply while reducing dependence on diesel generator backup. The project is intended to support cleaner and more reliable power distribution in the two districts while expanding consumer choice under Haryana's parallel distribution framework. It aims to integrate a greater share of renewable generation into local supply arrangements.
Under the first phase the rollout will begin in Nuh where consumers will have the option to switch to the new electricity supplier if the licence is approved. The existing distribution utility will continue to operate its network and will retain consumers who choose not to switch. The model is designed to coexist with the incumbent provider while offering alternatives to end users.
The company indicated that funding for the first phase has already been secured with equity infused and a debt equity financing structure in place. The proposed Rs 47 bn investment is expected to support creation of a future-ready electricity distribution network as Haryana seeks to strengthen power infrastructure. The plan is aligned with broader efforts to integrate distributed renewable resources and to improve resilience of supply.
The proposal will remain subject to the HERC regulatory process and the group will proceed only after approvals are in place. The move is presented as part of attempts to expand consumer choice and to reduce reliance on conventional backup sources. Market observers will watch regulatory deliberations as Haryana implements the parallel distribution framework.
