JSW Energy (the company) said it added 1,166 MW of renewable capacity since April 2026, raising the share of renewables to 60 per cent of its total installed capacity. The company added that the recent additions represented more than 94 per cent of its total organic capacity added in FY26. The moves form part of a wider shift in the company portfolio towards lower carbon generation.

Following the completion of the acquisition of Maruti Clean Coal and Power Ltd the company reported that total installed generation capacity had increased to 14,920 MW. The renewable portfolio comprises 3,125 MW of wind, 2,360 MW of solar, 1,696 MW of hybrid and 1,781 MW of hydro capacity, while the thermal portfolio stands at 5,958 MW. The report framed the balance between renewables and thermal capacity as central to its operational strategy.

The company said it remained on track to deliver three GW of greenfield capacity addition for FY27. JSW Energy stated that it has a total locked in generation capacity of 32.4 GW, including 14.9 GW currently operational, 13.5 GW under construction across thermal, hydro and renewable projects, and a four GW pipeline. It also reported 29.6 GWh of locked in energy storage capacity, comprising 26.4 GWh of pumped hydro storage and 3.2 GWh of battery energy storage.

The acquisition of 100 per cent equity of Maruti Clean Coal and Power Ltd was completed on August seven, making it a wholly owned subsidiary and adding a 300 MW thermal plant in Korba, Chhattisgarh to the group. The plant holds a long-term power purchase agreement for 195 MW of net capacity with Rajasthan distribution companies routed through PTC India with a residual PPA life of around 14 years, while five per cent of output is supplied at variable cost to the Chhattisgarh discom and the remaining around 64 MW is sold in the merchant market. Shares of JSW Energy ended two point three two per cent higher at Rs577.50 on Monday at the NSE.
