Kosol Energie Commits Rs 900 Billion to Renewables in Gujarat
The agreement was signed in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, and will focus on the development of solar manufacturing, green hydrogen and green ammonia projects in the state.
Under the MoU, Kosol Energie plans to establish solar module manufacturing facilities, research and development centres, large-scale renewable energy parks and integrated green energy ecosystems across Gujarat. The proposed investments are aligned with India’s clean energy targets and the government’s broader push to expand domestic manufacturing under its self-reliance initiatives.
The projects are expected to generate more than 100,000 direct and indirect jobs, further strengthening Gujarat’s position as a leading hub for renewable energy manufacturing and project execution.
Kalpesh Kalthia, Chairman and Managing Director of Kosol Energie, said renewable energy is a key driver of energy security and economic growth. He added that the company’s focus is on scaling manufacturing capacity and project delivery to support India’s clean energy transition.
India has set a target of achieving 500 gigawatts of non-fossil fuel power capacity by 2030, with solar energy expected to contribute the largest share of new additions. Kosol Energie said it is also evaluating renewable energy investment opportunities in other Indian states, as demand for solar power, energy storage and green fuels continues to grow.
