KP Energy Limited has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Government of Gujarat to develop renewable energy projects across the state, with a proposed investment of around Rs 40 billion. The MoU was signed on January 12, 2026, at Marwadi University in Rajkot during the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference.

Under the agreement, KP Group plans to establish renewable energy projects with an aggregate capacity of approximately 855 MW. The portfolio will comprise solar power projects and interstate transmission system-connected wind–solar hybrid projects across multiple locations in Gujarat, including Devbhumi Dwarka and Kutch near Bhuj.

The proposed project mix includes a 200 MW DC solar power project under the DREBP scheme and captive user segment, a 405 MW solar power project, a 100 MW ISTS-connected wind–solar hybrid project and a 150 MW ISTS-connected wind–solar hybrid project. The developments are expected to be implemented in a phased manner, subject to the receipt of statutory approvals and clearances.

KP Group said the projects are expected to generate significant employment, with more than 4,000 jobs likely to be created during development and execution, contributing to regional economic growth.

As part of the MoU, the Government of Gujarat will facilitate KP Group in obtaining the necessary permissions, registrations, approvals and clearances from relevant state authorities, in line with applicable policies and regulations, to enable timely project execution.

The agreement reinforces KP Group’s commitment to strengthening Gujarat’s renewable energy ecosystem and supporting the state’s clean energy and sustainable development objectives, while contributing to India’s broader transition towards non-fossil fuel-based power generation.
