MP Jal Nigam Floats Tender for 100 MW Captive Solar Project in Mandsaur

The Madhya Pradesh Jal Nigam (MPJN) has invited bids to develop a 100 MW ground-mounted solar power project under captive mode in the Mandsaur district of the state.

The last date for bid submission is 22 August 2025, with bids scheduled to be opened on 25 August. Interested bidders are required to submit an earnest money deposit of Rs 5 million and a tender fee of Rs 50,000.

The scope of work includes the complete design, engineering, procurement, construction, erection, testing, and commissioning of the project, along with comprehensive operation and maintenance (O&M) services for a period of 25 years.

As part of the land requirement, selected bidders must procure private land parcels within the designated revenue land to ensure contiguity. If the identified government land is insufficient, bidders may acquire additional private land at their own cost and risk.

The project mandates the use of solar modules and cells listed under the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) – List I and II.

To qualify, bidders must have developed and commissioned either:

  • Grid-connected, ground-mounted solar projects with a minimum cumulative capacity of 25 MW, or
  • A single grid-connected, ground-mounted solar project of at least 10 MW capacity within the past seven years.
Additionally, bidders must demonstrate a net worth of at least Rs 600 million.
The new tender follows MPJN’s recent initiative to develop a 60 MW grid-connected wind power project, which may be scaled up to 62 MW based on the wind turbine generators selected. Last year, the agency had also sought consultancy services for the same 100 MW solar and 60 MW wind projects under the group captive model.
In a separate development earlier this year, the Madhya Pradesh Urja Vikas Nigam issued a tender for rooftop solar projects totalling 2.215 MW across government buildings in Chhindwara, Dhar, and Seoni districts.
