NLC India Limited (NLCIL), acting on behalf of its subsidiary NLC India Renewables Limited (NIRL), has issued a tender to procure 1,500 acres of private land through outright purchase for the development of solar projects in Gujarat. The tender document is priced at Rs 20,000 and requires a bid security of Rs 13,540,000 (13.54 mn). Bids must be submitted by 27 August 2026 under the timelines specified in the notice.

The scope requires the arrangement of land at five acres per megawatt (MW) and obliges the selected bidder to undertake a topographical survey and any cutting, filling and compaction necessary to meet technical specifications set out in Section G of the tender. The document sets out detailed construction and site preparation obligations and refers to technical clearances and environmental compliances that the purchaser must secure prior to project execution.

Land parcels may be offered in multiple lots provided each individual parcel has a minimum area of 500 acres and supports a minimum installation capacity of 100 MW. Each offered parcel must have motorable access free from ownership disputes; where access is absent the successful bidder will be required to construct the shortest feasible approach road and resolve any Right of Way issues arising during parcel interconnection. Offered sites must lie within a radius of 50 km of the nearest Gujarat Energy Transmission Corporation (GETCO) pooling substation and provide connectivity at 132 kV or higher.

The tender is open to corporate bidders demonstrating a positive net worth in their latest audited financial statements, with eligibility to be certified by a practising Chartered Accountant. The notice follows an earlier requisition this year to arrange 3,000 acres on lease in Rajasthan and reflects continued demand for land to support utility scale solar capacity.
