Odisha Approves Renewable Projects Worth Rs 8.70 Bn

The Government of Odisha has cleared four new renewable energy projects with a cumulative capacity of 178 megawatts, drawing investments totalling Rs 8.69 billion, according to a statement from the State Energy Department.
The approvals were granted earlier this week by the department’s single window committee, which facilitates swift clearances for large-scale power and energy projects.
Among the approved initiatives, Prozeal Green Energy will set up a 69.5 MW solar park at Biramaharajpur in Subarnapur district, while INOX Solar has received clearance for a 49.5 MW solar project in Telkoi, Keonjhar district.
Mahanadi Coalfields (MCL), a state-owned miner, has been granted permission to establish a 10 MW solar facility at Lakhanpur in Jharsuguda. Additionally, NLC India Renewables will develop a wind power project in Papadahandi, Nabarangpur district.
With these additions, the total renewable energy capacity approved by the committee now stands at 1,844.86 MW. The overall investment attracted by these projects has reached Rs 125.99 billion. the department stated.
