RECPDCL Hands Vizag Transmission SPV to Adani Energy

REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL), a wholly owned subsidiary of REC Limited, has handed over Vizag Power Transmission Limited, a project-specific Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV), to Adani Energy Solutions Limited.
Adani Energy Solutions emerged as the successful bidder through the Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) process conducted by RECPDCL for the inter-state transmission project, Transmission System for Proposed Green Hydrogen / Green Ammonia projects in Vizag area, Andhra Pradesh (Phase-I). The project will be developed on a Build, Own, Operate and Transfer (BOOT) basis.
The SPV was handed over by Rajkumar Sonkar, HoD (CS), RECPDCL, to Shashank Sharma, CBDO, Adani Energy Solutions, in the presence of senior officials from RECPDCL, Adani Energy Solutions and Central Transmission Utility of India Limited.
The project envisages the establishment of a 4x1500 MVA, 765/400 kV Pendurthi GIS substation and a 3x1500 MVA, 765/400 kV Khammam-II substation. It also includes a 226-km 765 kV double-circuit line from Pendurthi to Srikakulam, a 153-km line from Khammam-II to Warangal New and a 338-km line from Khammam-II to Pendurthi.
Additionally, a 60-km 400 kV double-circuit line will connect Khammam-II with the existing Khammam substation, along with associated works. The project is scheduled for completion within 30 months and has an estimated cost of Rs 83.86 billion.
