His work has involved collaboration with utilities, regulators and global technology partners including IBM, Accenture, Capgemini, TCS and Tech Mahindra during critical phases of grid modernisation. He has contributed to adoption of distribution automation and intelligent grid solutions, combining technical planning with on the ground execution. He has also participated in projects supported by multilateral agencies such as the World Bank, Asian Development Bank and USAID.
The board noted that the appointment comes at a pivotal time as the convergence of power systems and digital technologies reshapes utility operations. The company expects to deepen engagement in smart grid deployments and digital infrastructure projects as utilities move towards more intelligent, automated and integrated networks. Mr Verma stated that the power sector is entering a phase in which digitalisation, resilience and network flexibility are becoming central and that the company will focus on strengthening execution and partnerships across the value chain.
