Sharika Enterprises Appoints Sanjay Verma As Chief Executive Officer

Sharika Enterprises Limited has appointed Mr Sanjay Verma as Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective on the first of April, 2026, in addition to his existing role as Executive Director. The appointment is presented as a strategic response to accelerating digitalisation and energy transition across India’s power sector where utilities are increasing investment in grid modernisation, automation and digital infrastructure. Industry observers view the move as strengthening the company’s positioning in the evolving smart grid ecosystem.

Mr Verma brings three decades of experience across power distribution, utility systems and digital grid technologies and has been an Executive Director and board member since 2014, contributing to the company’s growth in smart grid solutions. He previously served at GE Energy as SWAT Leader for Smart Grids in the Greater India Region, working on early deployment of utility platforms such as SCADA, ADMS, EMS, GIS, WFM, demand response management systems and smart metering systems. He has worked with utilities, regulators and global technology partners during phases of grid modernisation.

During a long tenure at Schneider Electric he helped introduce distribution automation devices including reclosers, ring main units, fault passage indicators and compact substations in India. His career included collaborations with consulting and technology firms such as IBM, Accenture, Capgemini, TCS and Tech Mahindra and participation in projects supported by multilateral agencies including the World Bank, Asian Development Bank and USAID. He has engaged with industry bodies including FICCI, CII, IEEE and IEEMA and contributed to sector dialogues and policy discussions.

The company’s board said the leadership change arrives at a pivotal time as the convergence of power systems and digital technologies reshapes utility operations and it expects the appointment to strengthen execution and partnerships across the value chain. In his expanded role Mr Verma is expected to deepen Sharika Enterprises’ engagement in smart grid deployments and digital infrastructure projects as utilities move towards more intelligent, automated and integrated networks. The appointment is part of a broader strategy to capitalise on momentum in grid digitalisation and the energy transition.
