TGSPDCL Makes Power Supply Arrangements at Tank Bund
TGSPDCL Chairman and Managing Director Jitesh V. Patil inaugurated a special camp office at NTR Marg on Thursday. He subsequently inspected the power supply infrastructure, safety measures and emergency response systems in the area, and directed officials to maintain readiness throughout the immersion programme.
The company has deployed 32 distribution transformers (DTRs) for the event. The equipment includes 23 DTRs rated at 500 kVA, eight rated at 160 kVA and one rated at 1,000 kVA, providing additional capacity for locations along the immersion routes and at nearby public areas.
TGSPDCL has also kept 19 dedicated 11 kV feeders ready as alternative supply arrangements. These feeders are sourced from six substations and connected through a ring system, allowing officials to restore electricity through an alternative feeder if an interruption occurs on any one route.
Officials, engineers and field staff will remain on duty around the clock until the immersion concludes. Special control rooms, mobile maintenance teams and emergency equipment have also been placed on standby to respond to faults and other incidents, while teams will continuously monitor the electricity network.
The arrangements are intended to reduce the risk of disruptions and electrical accidents during one of Telangana’s largest public events. The utility has prioritised public safety and instructed its teams to coordinate responses promptly across Tank Bund, NTR Marg and the designated immersion points.
