Vikran Engineering Wins Rs 1,206.9 Million Order From Power Grid
The project covers three substations: the 400/220 kV Magarwada GIS substation in Dadra & Nagar Haveli, the 765/400/220 kV Vadodara GIS substation in Gujarat and the 400/220 kV Rajgarh substation in Madhya Pradesh. It includes construction of 400/220 kV GIS bays and allied works under two integrated contracts covering supply of goods and services. The scope will require coordinated execution across manufacturing and on-site erection teams.
Power Grid Corporation of India, referred to as POWERGRID, said the initiative will strengthen the inter-regional transmission network, enhance grid reliability and improve power evacuation capacity across Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and the Union Territory. The company added that the project is expected to support rising power demand driven by industrial and commercial growth while reinforcing national grid resilience. Vikran Engineering's chairman and managing director expressed that the award reflected client confidence in the firm's engineering capabilities and would reinforce its footprint in the high-voltage GIS substation segment.
Vikran Engineering is a diversified EPC player with capabilities across power transmission and distribution, water infrastructure and railway electrification, and is expanding in solar EPC and smart metering. POWERGRID is a Maharatna central public sector undertaking and had reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 45.4633 billion (bn) in the fourth quarter FY26 on revenue from operations of Rs 116.6561 billion (bn). The scrip eased by 0.65 per cent to Rs 283.85 on the BSE.
