Waa Solar Commissions Six Thousand kW Under PM-KUSUM Feeder Scheme
With this addition Waa Solar's cumulative commissioned capacity under the PM-KUSUM-C feeder scheme has reached 42 megawatt (MW). The company said the projects support its renewable energy portfolio and contribute to India's clean energy targets. It also indicated that the development aligns with its ongoing participation in feeder level solarisation initiatives across multiple states. The projects aim to supply farmers and local loads while reducing distribution losses in target feeders.
Last week Waa Solar signed seven power purchase agreements aggregating 48.15 megawatt (MW) with Madhya Pradesh Power Management Company Limited (MPPMCL). The company will supply power at tariffs ranging from Rs 2.73 to Rs 2.75 per unit with a tenure of 25 years from the scheduled commissioning date. The contracts cover long term offtake for projects under construction and are structured to provide revenue certainty over the PPA term. The tariff levels reflect competitive pricing in recent feeder level and state procurement rounds.
The company said it will continue to pursue feeder level projects and necessary regulatory clearances to advance its pipeline and operational readiness. The recent commissioning and contract awards are positioned to support regional electrification and farm feeder modernisation objectives under PM-KUSUM. Waa Solar intends to integrate the new capacity into operations and monitor performance to meet contractual and policy commitments. The development signals continued private sector participation in government led feeder solarisation programmes.
