Waaree Transpower Bags Major Transformer Order

Waaree Transpower, a Waaree Group company, on Tuesday said it has secured a transformer supply order worth Rs 1 billion with a total capacity of 1.27 gigawatts.

The order has been placed by a leading solar engineering, procurement and construction company, the firm said in a statement, marking a key milestone soon after the launch of its inverter-duty transformer portfolio.

“Waaree Transpower has achieved a significant industry milestone by securing inverter-duty transformer orders exceeding Rs 1 billion within the first month of launch,” the company said.

Waaree Transpower was formed after Waaree Energies acquired a controlling stake in transformer manufacturer Kotsons Private Limited for Rs 1.92 billion in October and subsequently rebranded the entity.

The transformers will be deployed across multiple states for utility-scale renewable energy projects, although the company did not disclose a timeline for execution.

Unlike standard transformers, which are designed to handle low-frequency alternating current power, inverter-duty transformers are engineered to manage high-frequency and high-voltage transmissions, making them critical components in large solar and renewable energy installations.
