WattPower Introduces 506KTL Grid-Forming Inverter
The 506KTL Smart String Inverter operates at 1000V AC and is designed to cut the number of inverters required for utility-scale arrays, potentially lowering balance-of-system costs and simplifying plant layout. WattPower indicated that the higher voltage capability can improve plant availability and help to lower lifetime operating costs. The vendor emphasised that the solution targets large-scale deployments where inverter count and thermal management are critical. The firm noted that the combination of monitoring, cooling and protection features is intended to support long-term asset value and simplify operations for owners.
The inverter integrates several technologies aimed at operational efficiency and resilience. These include artificial intelligence enabled monitoring and plant optimisation tools, a hybrid cooling system for thermal management and an Anti-Icing Fan to enable operation across varied climatic conditions. The unit also incorporates SSLD2 protection technology intended to enhance equipment safety and fault tolerance. Such measures are intended to improve asset uptime and reduce maintenance interventions.
WattPower noted that the 506KTL forms part of an expanding utility-scale portfolio and is available for pre-orders. The company stated the model was developed with an emphasis on product life, reliability, performance and asset optimisation as priorities for developers and owners. Early pre-order discussions can be incorporated into procurement schedules to help align delivery with project timelines and streamline deployment. The company positioned the product as a strategic option for large-scale solar portfolios.
