In a landmark partnership, Cooper Corporation, one of India’s leading engine, genset, and tractor manufacturers, has joined hands with Japan’s Sinfonia Technology to launch India’s first CPCB IV+ certified 10 kVA LPG genset. The collaboration unites decades of engineering expertise with a shared commitment to innovation in clean energy.
The alliance was formalised with the unveiling of the ‘Daimon Genset’, an advanced 10 kVA genset powered by LPG. Exclusively manufactured by Cooper Corporation at its facility in Satara, Maharashtra, the genset will be jointly marketed across India and exported to international markets, including Asia, Africa and the Middle East.
The COOPER SINFONIA genset, model CSG-0010L-IN, will carry the brand name ‘DAIMON’ in India—named after Sinfonia’s hometown in Japan—and ‘SATARA’ in the Japanese market, honouring Cooper’s century-old roots. Designed as a compact, cost-effective and eco-friendly alternative to traditional diesel generators, the Daimon Genset offers high performance, low emissions, and minimal maintenance.
Farrokh N. Cooper, Chairman & Managing Director, Cooper Corporation, said:
“This partnership with Sinfonia Technology marks a purposeful step towards reshaping the energy landscape with cleaner, smarter solutions. The Daimon Genset reflects our belief that progress is driven by collaboration where Japanese precision and Indian engineering come together with intent. With CPCB IV Plus compliant, high-efficiency LPG gensets, we aim to help industries transition to sustainable and cost-effective power solutions without compromising on reliability or performance.”
Makoto Saito, General Manager, Social Infrastructure System Sales Dept., Sinfonia Technology Co, added:
“Our collaboration with Cooper Corporation underscores our shared vision of delivering sustainable, high-efficiency power solutions worldwide. The Daimon Genset combines Japanese precision engineering with India’s manufacturing prowess, creating a product that meets the highest international standards. Through this collaboration, we are proud to push the boundaries of clean energy accessibility and drive meaningful progress toward a greener future.”
The CPCB IV+ certified genset meets India’s most stringent emission norms, reflecting a breakthrough in low-carbon energy generation. Powered by Cooper’s indigenously developed lean-burn gas engine, designed in collaboration with Ricardo (UK), the genset features an Electronic Engine Management System, Isochronous Governing, and a compact V-Twin 2-Cylinder engine.
The genset offers super silent operation, high power density, low operational costs, and a space-efficient design, making it ideal for microgrids, educational institutions, retail, industrial units, and rural deployments.
Through this strategic alliance, Cooper and Sinfonia are redefining standards for sustainable energy solutions. Sinfonia’s strength in power electronics and its global presence, coupled with Cooper’s manufacturing and engineering capabilities, position the partnership to deliver scalable, clean power solutions to a rapidly evolving energy landscape.
