ACE and Kato Join Forces to Manufacture High-End Cranes in India

ACE - Action Construction Equipment, India’s leading material handling and construction equipment manufacturer, has formed a 50:50 joint venture with Japan's Kato Works. The new company, ‘ACE KATO,’ will manufacture high-capacity cranes, including truck, crawler, and rough terrain cranes, serving both the Indian and international markets.

This collaboration brings together Kato’s global technology, design, and engineering expertise with ACE’s manufacturing capabilities and market reach in India. The venture is expected to improve product competitiveness by enhancing performance and cost-efficiency, while addressing growth opportunities in both domestic and international markets.

With an investment of approximately Rs 2 billion, the manufacturing facility will be located in Haryana, and operations are set to begin in 2026. The joint venture supports India’s ‘Make in India’ initiative, contributing to the country’s long-term infrastructure and economic growth.

Sorab Agarwal, Executive Director of ACE, commented, “The demand for advanced construction equipment is rising in India, and our partnership with Kato Works will bring globally benchmarked crane technology to the country, strengthening our domestic manufacturing capabilities.”

In addition to meeting local demand, the joint venture aims to expand export opportunities across Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and other international markets, leveraging Kato Works' proprietary technologies to enhance product performance, efficiency, and reliability.
