BICES 2025 Gears Up with Grand Press Meet in Beijing

The BICES 2025 Press Conference and Exhibitor Preparation Meeting took place in Beijing with participation from nearly 150 attendees, including organiser leaders, exhibitors, users, service providers, and media representatives. 

Key organisers present included Su Zimeng, Chairman of the China Construction Machinery Association (CCMA); Wu Peiguo, Secretary-General of CCMA and President of Beijing Asiamachine International Convention & Exhibition (BAICE);  Li Jianyou, Vice-Chairman of CCMA; Qi Jun, Honorary Chairman of CCMA; Li Jin, General Manager of China Construction Machinery Co., (CNCMC); and Zhou Weidong, Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade – Machinery Sub-Council (CCPIT-MSC). 

Exhibitor representatives included LIUGONG, XCMG, SANY, Zoomlion, TZCO, Caterpillar, HELI, HANGCHA, CRCHI, EDDIE, KETAI, HBIS, SHENGHANG, MINGDE, CREG, HUATAI, Kawasaki, Cummins, SHUANGXIANG, Fangyuan Group, Shell China, and Railway IMT Beijing. 

Also in attendance were user and association representatives from China Railway Group (CREC), CSCEC, Beijing Construction Engineering Group, BGRIMM, China Railway Electrification Bureau Group, Sinopec, CRCC Financial Leasing, and several national construction associations. 

Media attendees included People’s Daily, Xinhua News Agency, China Daily, Economic Daily, Guangming Daily, China News Service, China.com.cn, 21-sun, and others, along with representatives from the U.S. Embassy and European and American Chambers of Commerce. 

Industry Outlook and Exhibition Planning 

Su Zimeng delivered a keynote on the performance and outlook of China’s construction machinery sector since 2025. He noted that the industry had steadily advanced despite a challenging international landscape, with innovations and modernisation driving growth. “As the technologies, products, and services of China's construction machinery sector gain broader recognition and acceptance from international users, and as enterprises continue to improve and upgrade their global business presence, the industry's total exports are expected to remain at a high level this year,” he said. 

Su outlined key priorities for 2025: promoting high-quality internationalisation, curbing disordered competition, leveraging artificial intelligence, and building momentum towards 14th Five-Year Plan goals. He emphasised that BICES 2025 would display the industry’s latest advancements across application scenarios, attracting both domestic and international engagement. 

Wu Peiguo shared detailed planning updates, highlighting exhibitor recruitment, international visitor coordination, concurrent conferences, media promotion, and venue operations. With a 10 per cent year-on-year increase in registered exhibitors and an expected exhibition area of over 150,000 square metres, preparations are on track. Over 100 concurrent events and 10,000 overseas visitors are anticipated. 

Daily exhibition hours have been extended to 9:00 AM–6:00 PM for convenience. “We will fully leverage BICES’s five major advantages to deliver a grand event for the global construction machinery industry,” Wu stated. 

Li Jianyou introduced the progress of the "Three New" (new products, technologies, and achievements), including the upcoming release of a dedicated progress report and directory. The exhibition will spotlight green, intelligent and high-end innovations. 

Key initiatives include the publication of carbon footprint guidelines and implementation rules, aligning with broader goals of dual-carbon development and high-quality industrial progress. 

Industry Support and Expectations 

Qi Jun expressed appreciation to users, exhibitors, partners and media for their continued support of BICES. He encouraged users to participate actively, exhibitors to showcase advanced technologies, and media to enhance coverage. He also urged organisers to uphold BICES’s brand and legacy. 

Exhibitor representative Quan Dejun of Liugong said: “BICES, as a ‘barometer’ of the construction machinery industry, has always served as a key platform for technological innovation and industrial upgrading.” 

He shared that Liugong would present under the theme “Intelligence, Green, and Extending Human Capability,” showcasing intelligent, sustainable solutions. 

User representatives from CSCEC, Beijing Construction Engineering Group, and Sinopec highlighted their commitment to expanding participation at BICES 2025 to stay updated on innovations and promote collaboration. 

Event organisers, including the China-Africa Friendly Economic and Trade Development Foundation and the Silk Road International Capacity Cooperation Promotion Centre, also pledged strong support for the event. 

Service providers, led by Shi Zhigang of Beijing Foreign Transport Exhibition Service Co., committed to upholding “service first, safety first, and attitude first,” and promised seamless coordination with the organisers. 

Following the meeting, attendees held further discussions and visited the exhibition venue. The successful conference signals the final phase of preparations for BICES 2025. 

With the global construction machinery sector undergoing a major transformation driven by green, digital, and high-end innovation, BICES 2025 is poised to be a landmark event. It aims to bring together top global enterprises, showcase cutting-edge technologies, and promote integration across industrial and supply chains—providing a high-end platform for dialogue and collaboration.
