Deere introduces the 200 G-Tier, a new lower-cost mid-size excavator

In the company's naming strategy, which debuted in 2021, the G-Tier designation represents the company's economic models. Models are labelled with a G, P, or X to indicate their level of performance and technology. The P-Tier includes advanced features, while the X-Tier includes hybrid diesel-electric technology and the most advanced features.

The 200 G-Tier is marketed as a more cost-effective alternative to similar mid-size excavators in its class. It is intended for small contractors and rental businesses.

A 145-horsepower PowerTech 4.5-liter engine powers the 22.5-ton excavator. The machine's dig forces and lift capacities allow it to handle a wide range of applications, including overburden stockpiling, basement excavation, truck loading, and pipe placement.
