Escorts Kubota Unveils New BS-V Construction Lineup
In the earthmoving segment, EKL introduced the Kubota U22-6 Mini Excavator as a commercial launch. This 2.2-tonne model is positioned between the company’s 1.7-tonne and 3-tonne machines and is tailored for specialised tasks such as urban construction, basement excavation and other confined-area operations. It features zero-tail swing, improved hydraulic capability, ROPS/FOPS protection and a digital operator interface. The compact size and manoeuvrability make it suitable for sites where space efficiency is critical.
EKL also displayed the Hydra 15 Mining, a prototype-stage variant developed specifically for mining and quarrying. The model includes strengthened safety components such as a lift-jack guard and reinforced front bumper, along with an air-conditioned cabin designed for long operating hours. Built to withstand heavy-impact cycles while ensuring predictable maintenance needs, the variant aims to offer a durable and comfortable solution for demanding mining environments.
Another highlight was the prototype BLX75K Backhoe Loader, aimed at wider regional markets. Equipped with a next-generation 74.3 hp Kubota CEV-V engine, the model offers improved fuel efficiency, multiple work modes and enhanced serviceability. As part of EKL’s next-generation backhoe loader platform, it reflects deeper integration of Japanese engineering into the company’s construction machinery portfolio.
Taking centre stage was the Hydra 72, introduced as a concept-stage pick-and-carry crane engineered for higher lifting applications. The new 72-foot boom represents a step up from the earlier 65-foot class and addresses the needs of sectors requiring advanced material handling. Key features include a four-part rope-compensated boom, a heavy-duty hydraulic winch with integrated safety systems, lift-cylinder safety valves and a reinforced axle and transmission setup for sustained operation. Enhanced lifting capability, paired with upgraded cabin ergonomics, is designed to improve operator confidence and performance.
Overall, EKL’s updated range at Excon 2025 showcases its strategic focus on innovation, safety and application-specific engineering, aligning with India’s rapidly expanding infrastructure sector
