Walls Construction has recently deployed five Raimondi tower cranes for the construction of Southwest Gate, a major mixed-use development in Dublin, Ireland.

The cranes were supplied by Irish Crane & Lifting, Raimondi’s official dealer in Ireland for more than two decades. The deployment includes three new T577 flat-top tower cranes and two MRT294 tower cranes.

“For over 10 years, we have been working alongside Walls Construction on some of the country's most significant developments, including College Square, Grand Canal Harbour, and Rathborne Wharf,” stated Robert Coffey, Director, Irish Crane & Lifting. “The rental of these five machines, including three cranes with the heaviest lifting capacity in our portfolio, represents another important milestone in our many-years collaboration,” Coffey affirmed, referring to the T577’s lifting capacity of 24t.

The five cranes were installed in three phases by the Irish Crane operations team between the fourth quarter of 2025 and the third quarter of 2026.

Selected to support precast installation works, the three T577-24t flat-top cranes are operating at heights ranging from 48 m to 61 m. They are configured with 50 m jibs and offer a tip load of 12.38 t in UltraLift mode.

“The T577s were selected for their exceptional tip loads, optimised load charts and ease of commissioning, making the cranes particularly well suited to the project’s demanding lifting requirements,” Coffey explained.

The T577 can lift elements weighing up to 10 t at the jib tip. It is equipped with a 110 kW hoisting gear, provides a maximum lifting speed of 110 m per minute and has a drum capacity of 1,030 m.

The two MRT294-16t cranes operating onsite are configured with 40 m jibs and working heights of 38 m and 40 m.

Southwest Gate in Dublin 12 is being developed by O’Flynn Group in partnership with the Land Development Agency. On completion, the mixed-use project will include retail and commercial spaces along with more than 1,100 homes.
