Kirloskar Brothers (KBL) has received NABL accreditation for its Hydraulic Research Centre Pump Testing Laboratory at its Kirloskarvadi plant in Sangli.
The accreditation, aligned with ISO/IEC 17025:2017 standards, covers testing of a wide range of rotodynamic pumps, including centrifugal, mixed flow and axial variants across key performance parameters. KBL stated it is the only pump manufacturer globally to receive this accreditation.
Sanjay Kirloskar, Chairman & Managing Director, KBL, said, “The NABL accreditation is a testament to the relentless pursuit of quality and precision by our engineering teams at Kirloskarvadi. As India accelerates its infrastructure ambitions in energy, water management, irrigation and urban development, we are proud to offer testing capabilities that meet the highest global standards. This is a step forward for quality-driven engineering made in India.”
The accreditation enables KBL’s pump performance data to be independently validated and globally accepted, eliminating the need for third-party re-testing and accelerating approvals in regulated procurement. As NABL is a signatory to the ILAC Mutual Recognition Arrangement, test results are recognised across more than 100 countries.
India’s pump market, valued at USD 2.90 billion in 2024, is projected to reach USD 4.14 billion by 2030, growing at a CAGR of 6.12 per cent. The development strengthens KBL’s positioning in domestic infrastructure projects and international markets amid increasing demand for certified and quality-assured suppliers.
The accreditation further reinforces KBL’s focus on delivering reliable, high-performance pumping solutions aligned with global quality benchmarks.
