Smiley Monroe has invested Rs 60 million in a new 24,000-sq-ft manufacturing facility in Hosur, Tamil Nadu, to expand production capacity and support growing demand in India and neighbouring markets.
The investment follows a 40 per cent year-on-year increase in production volumes across the group since 2025 and forms part of the company's growth strategy. The new facility will double CNC cutting capacity with the addition of a second CNC cutting machine and significantly increase conveyor belt production capacity.
The expansion will also increase the company's workforce in India from 20 to 35 employees across production, sales, engineering and purchasing functions.
Smiley Monroe established its India operations in 2012 and currently supplies more than 10 original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), alongside a growing dealer network and end users across the region.
Chris Monroe, Chief Executive Officer, Smiley Monroe, said the new facility will enable the company to respond more quickly to customer demand while increasing production capacity and operational flexibility.
The facility has been designed with sustainability in mind, incorporating locally sourced materials such as structural steel, bamboo wall cladding and locally manufactured paint. The company also plans to measure embodied and operational carbon emissions at the site as part of its net-zero strategy.
Prabhu Gopinath, Operations Director, Smiley Monroe India, said the expansion will improve turnaround times, strengthen conveyor belt manufacturing and create opportunities in precision-cut rubber and plastic components.
