Amazon has opened a new 12-storey office in Bengaluru, marking its second-largest campus in Asia and its largest after the Nanakramguda site in Hyderabad. The corporate building spans 1.1 million (mn) square feet and can support over 7,000 employees across e-commerce, operations, payments, technology and seller services. The company said the campus is part of its continued investments in India.

Amazon noted that it has already invested Rs40 billion (bn) in India and has committed to invest an additional Rs35 bn by 2030. The company emphasised that the new campus is designed to enable collaboration, flexibility, learning and wellbeing and to bring teams together at scale. The facility was inaugurated by Dr M B Patil, Minister for Large and Medium Industries and Infrastructure Development, Government of Karnataka.

Patil welcomed the investment and said that such large-scale campuses create high-quality jobs, strengthen the local ecosystem and support the digital economy, reflecting India’s role as a global technology and innovation hub. Samir Kumar, country manager of Amazon India, said that India remains a long-term priority and that Bengaluru continues to serve as a central hub for innovation and talent. Both officials framed the investment as building long-term capability and creating opportunity for the workforce.

The company outlined its wider presence in Karnataka, including 10 corporate offices, seven fulfilment centres, three sorting centres and over 130 last-mile delivery stations, along with a network of micro-fulfilment centres for Amazon Now. The firm added that more than 80,000 sellers from Karnataka already sell on the platform. The new campus is situated about 15 kilometres from Kempegowda International Airport and is intended to support continued growth of teams and services in the region. The campus will enable expansion of technology and seller support functions across the region.
