DDA To Hold Over 20 Stakeholder Meets To Push MPD-2047 Implementation
The schedule will bring together elected representatives, government departments, professional institutions, industry associations and landowners to focus on sectoral and area specific measures envisaged under MPD-2047. Industry bodies and chambers, including the Confederation of Indian Industry, Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry, PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, ASSOCHAM and DSIIDC, will be consulted on measures to promote industrial development and on facilitating land availability for industry. Architects, planners, professional institutions and private developers will be engaged to discuss opportunities under Transit-Oriented Development, High-Density Corridors and Land Pooling.
Separate interactions will be held with members of parliament and members of the legislative assembly to review key provisions and to clarify implementation pathways for Transit-Oriented Development, High-Density Corridors, Land Pooling and Low-Density Areas. Dedicated meetings with government agencies and service providers are planned to strengthen interdepartmental coordination and to resolve operational bottlenecks that could impede plan rollout. At the neighbourhood level, the outreach will reach residents' welfare associations, group housing societies and cooperative group housing societies to discuss redevelopment of group housing and related delivery mechanisms.
Thematic sessions will examine Low-Density Areas, rejuvenation of the Yamuna and development of a blue-green network, heritage conservation, mixed-use development and redevelopment of commercial centres, as well as in-situ slum redevelopment and measures to decongest urban areas and improve mobility. Officials indicated that the consultations aim to align stakeholders around practical interventions and to sequence projects that can deliver visible public benefits. The DDA described the meetings as a platform for focused interaction that will facilitate coordinated action on the plan's vision.
