SPML Infra Ltd has reported that its proprietary 104.4 kWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) battery pack has completed key international safety, performance and transportation certification and testing requirements, advancing the product towards commercial deployment. The Kolkata based infrastructure company said the battery pack was developed under its own intellectual property and that the approvals followed a comprehensive programme of laboratory and field assessments. The completion marks a milestone in SPML Infra Ltd's energy storage offering.

The certifications and tests addressed thermal runaway safety, battery performance, system functional safety, electromagnetic compatibility and transportation safety, reflecting a broad regulatory and technical scope. Independent test regimes examined cell and pack behaviour under stress conditions, system responses to fault scenarios and compliance with transport regulations for battery shipments. Meeting these standards is intended to support integration of the pack into commercial energy projects and logistics chains.

SPML Infra Ltd has been positioning its BESS offering as part of broader infrastructure solutions, with the pack designed for deployment in grid support, renewable integration and captive power scenarios. The company outlined that completion of international certifications is expected to facilitate customer acceptance, reduce project lead times and align the product with overseas market requirements. The proprietary design was highlighted as enabling modularity and scalability for varying energy capacity needs.
