Telangana Allows Registration of Eligible 22-A Properties
Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy said the Revenue department had issued orders to facilitate immediate registration of eligible properties. Applicants will have to submit a link document for transactions conducted after obtaining the required permissions, establishing the connection between the current transaction and the approved property records.
The government will not treat all properties listed under 22-A in the same manner. Eligibility will be assessed on the basis of the nature of the land, the availability of land records, statutory approvals and any legal issues associated with the property.
District-level committees headed by Collectors will examine cases and resolve problems arising during the registration process. The committees will include the District Registrar and representatives of the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority, municipalities or rural local bodies, depending on the location and type of property under consideration.
The decision follows Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s assurance in the Assembly on September 16 that 22-A-related issues would be addressed through a fast-track mechanism. The Revenue Minister also referred to steps taken to regularise houses in 64 colonies in Rangareddy and Medchal-Malkajgiri districts under Government Order 118, as well as houses of Singareni workers under Government Order 76. These measures form part of the government’s broader effort to address registration and regularisation issues involving residential properties and approved developments.
